EEO-1 REPORT POSTPONED DUE TO GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN
Covered Employers Get Additional Time to Submit EEO Data
Due to the recent federal government shutdown, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has postponed the opening of the EEO-1 submission period until early March 2019. The deadline to submit EEO-1 data has also been extended to May 31, 2019.
Details and instructions for the 2018 EEO-1 Report will be forthcoming. Employers should continue to visit the EEOC’s website for schedule updates.
Certain employers (those with 100 or more employees or some federal contractors with 50 or more employees) are required to file an EEO-1 Report on an annual basis with the EEOC and the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). Submission of this data is required by law; it is not voluntary.
The EEO-1 Report is completed online via the EEO-1 Online Application. First-time filers will need to register prior to completing the EEO-1 Report.
