Description
With the holiday season comes the office holiday party. Office holiday parties are a great morale boost for employees and a great way for everyone to celebrate the season. However, office holiday parties often combine the festive atmosphere of the season with the consumption of alcohol, which is a potential minefield of employer liability. For that reason, employers should be mindful and take steps to protect themselves from claims arising from conduct during or after the event.
We would never advise that an employer cancel a holiday party for fear of liability. Have fun, but do so safely and in a way that limits liability for the company.
This training will discuss workplace harassment in the context of the company holiday party, including common situations that give rise to harassment, steps employers can take to reduce inappropriate conduct, and what to do if it does occur.
